We collect information you provide directly (name, email, profession when subscribing or registering), information collected automatically (IP address, browser type, pages visited, device information via cookies and analytics tools), and information you submit through forms (contact messages, article submissions).

We use essential cookies (required for the website to function), analytics cookies (to understand how visitors use the site, via Google Analytics — anonymised IP), and preference cookies (to remember your settings). You can manage cookies through your browser settings or our Cookie Policy page. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to read our content.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with trusted service providers who assist in operating our website (hosting, email delivery, analytics, AI research processing) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or court order. In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred with appropriate notice.

Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Account data is retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion. Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Analytics data is retained in anonymised form for up to 26 months. Saved research sessions (see Section 6) are retained while your account is active or until you delete them.

Nyay Vidhan offers an AI-assisted Legal Research feature (available at /legal-research and, for registered users, as a saved Research Workspace) that generates a synthesised answer to a legal question you type, grounded strictly in Nyay Vidhan's own verified judgment corpus.

When you use this feature: your question text, and only the specific evidence text from Nyay Vidhan's own published, verified judgments needed to answer it, are processed by our systems and — when AI generation is active — transmitted to a third-party AI service provider solely to generate that answer. We do not include your name, email or other account details in that transmission.

If you use the Research Workspace, your questions and the resulting answers are saved to your account as a research session so you can revisit or continue it. A bounded summary of your own recent questions in the same session may also be included as conversational context for a follow-up question, again without your account details.

We retain a research session for as long as your account remains active, or until you delete it — deleting a session from your dashboard is immediate and permanent. We log limited technical metadata about each request (timing, outcome, and a short truncated preview of your question) for reliability and debugging; we never log the full text of your question, the evidence sent, or any provider credentials.

We have not independently verified, and do not represent or guarantee, whether our AI service provider uses submitted data to train or improve its own models — any such use would be governed by that provider's own terms, not Nyay Vidhan's.

This feature is not always active; Nyay Vidhan's traditional judgment search and browsing remain fully available regardless. Any AI-generated answer is informational only, is never legal advice, and is separately covered by our Terms of Use and Disclaimer.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@nyayvidhan.in. We will respond within 30 days.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls and regular security audits. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take all reasonable precautions.

Nyay Vidhan is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
